OBSERVERS MUSIC GROUPS/INDIVIDUAL It is encouraged that parents/caregivers attend if their child is enrolled in the preschool music group. For all other music group tuition, attendance by one family member or parent/guardian is encouraged but not enforced (due to room capacity). Individual lessons allow for family members to attend if they wish. Again, it is encouraged for a parent/guardian to attend from time to time to be aware of the achievements and any techniques and skills that may require a little more attention. DANCE GROUPS For a trial period initially - only a parent or guardian may attend to observe classes. It is preferred that siblings do not attend unless they are enrolled in the class. The reason for this is that, particularly with younger siblings, it is possible it may cause some distraction and disruption particularly for the younger children who are attending class. Parent / guardian attendance will be reviewed from time to time. In mime and movement groups, children must be encouraged not to continually run back and forth to their mum! Adherence to this may determine whether observers may continue to attend. Some children do perform better when mum isn't there, but I understand the need for mums to ensure that their child is in a "safe" environment too! Another positive aspect for a parent or guardian to attend is to understand what things need to be practised! Mums are encouraged to participate in Mime and Movement Groups!
GUIDELINES for Music & Dance SOME GUIDELINES (And I will add more as I think of them!) To avoid disappointment, please ensure you select a first and second option with regard to classes you wish to enrol in. Please ensure your child has been to the toilet prior to the commencement of lessons. Once one goes, they all decide they need to go! (Particularly in dance classes) Please ensure your child does not possess food that can be "snacked" or "chewed" on during class time. Chewing gum is a "no-no"! Please advise the tutor if your child is not "100%" when they attend lessons. Please ensure your child has done some practise! For those pupils doing some music theory home work, mums! - please ensure this has been completed before coming to the next lesson! Make sure you remember to bring last week's notes, or in the case of music pupils, all your books and any theory homework! Music pupils, please ensure you bring a note book when you start coming to lessons, so we can get written down what you have to practise during the week! Name tags will be issued, however pupils must remember to leave these with the tutor at the conclusion of each lesson. ENROLMENTS: Due to the unknown quantity of inquiries and the type of classes each will be interested in enrolling in, confirmation of times for lessons will therefore be advised as soon as possible prior to the commencement of the term. Where possible, the tutor will try to accommodate everyone within the days and times available for teaching. Where some classes may lack numbers to commence, groups (where practical) may be amalgamated, or, individuals will be advised that they are on the waiting list until such time as a suitable number of enrolments are received before the class can commence. Where class numbers become fully booked, individuals will be advised that they are on the waiting list until a vacancy arises, or, until further inquiries warrant another class commencing.
