Please note: It is encouraged that your preschool aged child attends for the duration of the term as regular attendance for a good number of weeks will assist each and every one to "settle" well into a new learning environment and become more confident participating and mixing with other children. REGISTRATION DAY & ENROLMENT DETAILS - (Term 3 commences 21 July 08) INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC (3 - 4 years) MIME AND MOVEMENT (18 months to 3 years) INTRODUCTION TO DANCE (3 - 4 years) KINDERMUSIK CLASSES (birth to 4 years) There must be sufficient enrolments for a class to commence. Numbers in various classes will be restricted.
PRESCHOOL INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC (30 minutes) Currently held Friday 12.50pm-1.20pm. Other times avail. 3 to 4 years of age This is a specialised music course for preschoolers covering the introduction of sounds, tempo, counting, types of music notes, musical alphabet, ta-te system, chanting and rhythmical work using percussion instruments (drums, wooden blocks, castanets, tambourines etc.), identifying where a note is on the piano/keyboard, musical games and also learning about a variety of musical instruments such as the piano, electronic keyboard, guitar and piano accordion and listening to a variety of styles of music from these instruments. These classes include work pages/booklets to reinforce the work being taught. Over time, a preschooler will be able to play simple melodies on the piano/keyboard, read some treble notes and commence learning recorder, and/or progress on to learning to play piano and or electronic keyboard (from 5 years of age). The possibility as a preschooler strumming chords on the ukelele is also an option. This Introduction to Music class is charged as a "Course Term Fee".
PRESCHOOL MIME AND MOVEMENT CLASSES (30 minutes) Currently held on Friday 10am-10.30am Book now for Wed 12.50pm - 1pm. Other times avail. 18 months to 3 years of age SPECIAL DISCOUNT RATE - 50 percent discount for 2nd preschool family member enrolment in this class provided fees are paid at the commencement of the term. These are very relaxed and easy going group lessons involving singing, action songs, character song participation and movement to music through the use of various styles of music. The variety of activities allows all participants to enjoy a fun-filled half hour lesson that will enhance their creative skills, improve basic skills involving co-ordination, become aware of vocal and facial expression, gain a variety of skills involving movement, singing and action songs, improve self esteem and confidence and be exposed to a variety of styles of music. These classes will provide a basis for preschoolers to either continue in these classes and gain that extra confidence in the various skills taught, and/or to enrol in "Preschool Introduction to Dance" classes with lessons slightly more structured involving Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Characterised Dance and Singing. This Mime and Movement class is charged as a "Course Term Fee".
PRESCHOOL INTRODUCTION TO DANCE (30 minutes) Currently running on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 1.30pm-2pm Other times avail. 3 to 4 years of age This allows preschoolers to participate in a variety of forms of dance and performance including tap, jazz, ballet, characterised dance and singing. This exposes each individual to what dancing and performing involves and help them to decide what form of dancing they think they would like to be good at! The very basics of tap, jazz and ballet are taught and lessons are slightly more structured than the "Preschool Mime and Movement" Classes. The variety of dance forms will allow all participants to enjoy a fun-filled half hour lesson that will enhance their creative skills, improve basic skills involving co-ordination, become aware of vocal and facial expression, gain a variety of skills involving basic steps for tap, ballet and jazz, learn a few set songs attached to "dance" (song and dance), improve self esteem and confidence and be exposed to a variety of styles of music through the forms of dance offered in this group. This class is charged as a "Course Term Fee". Provided there is enough interest, separate preschool dance groups for jazz, tap or ballet will be considered after individuals have gained some basic skills in each of these areas through regular attendance to the "Preschool Introduction to Dance" Class.
